MEMO-Qc is responsible for the coordination and the secretariat of the Quebec Solutions Comittee. Formed at the request of the Rick Hansen Institute, representatives of rehabilitation centers, research, foundations and associations, it works to find solutions to structural problems experienced by people with SCI. Every year they are working to identify, fund and facilitate projects that meet the priorities and needs of people with SCI. These projects were funded with money raised fromthe Rick Hansen “Wheels In Motion” event and by the Fondation Moelle épinière et motricité Québec. These four projects were selected by the committee in 2010-2011.

  • A competitive adapted sailing team (AQVA)
  • Rouler sans frontière (Chris Kennedy) (http://www.worldonwheels.ca/fr/)
  • Assessment and specific training for people with spinal cord injury (Centre Viomax)
  • Body Atypical / Deborah Dunn project / internship CRLB (Corpuscule Danse)

In 2010-2011, the committee focused its work on a funding request to be submitted shortly to the Government of Quebec, so that it supports the structuring initiatives related to research, the return to the community and improving the quality of life of people with spinal cord injuries.
